Strawberry Park presents its 39th bluegrass festival
Think about it: the Strawberry Park Bluegrass Festival in Preston celebrates its 39th anniversary Thursday through Sunday. That's almost four decades times four days for each festival times a helluva lot of banjos in the hands of virtuosos!
As always, the festivities take place in the picturesque and homey Strawberry Park RV Resort, and the lineup is typically stellar. The harmony-crusted Gibson Brothers — two-time International Bluegrass Music Association Entertainers of the Year — headline the proceedings along with The Kruger Brothers, Della Mae, SteelDrivers, Steep Canyon Rangers and the Bryan Sutton Band. These are all top-level touring acts.
As well, up-and-coming future stars include Michael Cleveland & FlameKepper, The Lonely Heartsrings Band, The Hot Flashes, Twisted Pine, Boxcar Lillies, The Zolla Boys and Bob Amos & Catamount Crossing are also slated to perform over the long weekend.
In addition to Main Stage action, don't forget the Workshop Stage, which boasts a variety of sing-alongs, dances and musical instruction.
