Let's dish. And by "dish," I mean, let's grab a dish at New London's Spring Food Stroll and sample every last one of the delicious bite-sized offerings served up by various city restaurants and businesses.

Hey, there's a reason this event has become so popular. Folks pay one price ($30 for adults in advance this year) for a button that allows them to taste the gastronomical delights at, oh, a couple of dozen venues anyway. They wander along the city streets on an inevitably temperate spring evening, and they hear music performed in an entertaining range of styles. What's not to like?

Just a few examples of this year's participants: Right Path Organic Café, La Luna Ristorante Italiano, Lazy Leopard, Thames River Winery, Parade Pizza, and Sweeties Bakery and Café.

And a few examples of the dishes scheduled to be served: seafood cakes, pulled pork burritos, and white peach/mango sangria at The Bistro at 165 Bank; jambalaya shooters at State Street Saloon; and Chet's Italian Ice at The Eyeglass Lass.

And you might want to get a button in advance, since the stroll can sell out.

Spring Food Stroll, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, downtown New London; stroll buttons in advance are $30, $25 students and military, $25 for groups of six or more adults; prices go up by $5 on Wednesday, May 11 at the Atrium of the Harris Building, 165 State St.; newlondonmainstreet.org.
