    Local roundup: Ledyard boys win fifth straight

    Ledyard — Devin Rickerson had 22 points and eight rebounds as Ledyard ended its regular season on a five-game winning streak by defeating Granby 47-36 in a non-conference boys' basketball game on Monday night.

    Trevor Hutchins added 12 points and 17 rebounds and E.J. Ahlborn had 11 rebounds for the Colonels (13-7), who are seeded fifth and will play at No. 4 Norwich Free Academy in the quarterfinals of the Eastern Connecticut Conference Division I tournament on Thursday at 6 p.m.

    Granby also finishes its regular season at 13-7.

    In other games:

    • Aidan Miller scored 22 points as NFA beat Fitch 72-47 in an ECC Division I game that ended the regular season for both teams. Bret Wood had 14 points and Maloyid Perkins scored 10 for NFA (13-7, 5-3), which outscored Fitch 25-10 in the second quarter for a 39-27 halftime lead. Justice Farris had 12 points and David Beaudet scored 11 for Fitch (3-17, 0-8).

    • Olin Fredericks scored a career-high 23 points as Old Lyme outlasted Creed of New Haven 58-49 in the Shoreline Conference. Fredericks also went 9-for-10 from the foul line, including 4-for-4 in the fourth quarter, keeping Creed from mounting a late comeback. Ray Doll added 12 points for the Wildcats (14-5, 13-4), who finish their regular season on Wednesday at Hale-Ray, while Quinn Romeo finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Creed is 12-7, 10-7.

    • Montville closed out its regular season with a 50-32 loss to Putnam in a nonleague game. John Domijan led Montville (3-17) with 13 points and Tyion Harris scored 18 for Putnam (9-10). 

    H.S. gymnastics

    • Stonington beat NFA 136.2-129.7 in an ECC meet that ended the regular season for both teams. NFA's Anna Ciriello won the all-around with a score of 35.55, winning the bars (8.7), beam (8.9) and floor (9.15). Cat Cassata of Stonington (15-3, 4-2) won the vault with a score of 9.0 and was second in all-around at 34.1, followed by teammates Katya Toruella (33.8) and Lila Rich (32.9). NFA finishes 7-8, 2-4.

    Men's basketball

    • St. Thomas More lost to Putnam Science Academy, 81-58. Adrien Nunez had 12 points, DJ Mitchell scored 10 and Jared Garcia had eight points and nine rebounds for T-More (17-14).
