East Lyme to host Open Farm Day

East Lyme — The third annual Open Farm Day will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

The event, intended to showcase the local agriculture, will be held at three farms: Five C’s Farm, a horse farm at 32 Walnut Hill Road; Old Orchard Farm, which sells honey, apple cider and homemade pies, at 22 Scott Road; and Scott’s Yankee Farmer, which sells produce and has a pick-your-own operation and an apple orchard, at 291 N. Bride Brook Road.

The event, which is free, is sponsored by the Economic Development Commission. Each farm will offer tours and refreshments. Visitors can meet Five C’s foals, learn about honeybees and enjoy live music at Old Orchard Farm, and go on a tractor-drawn wagon ride on Scott’s Yankee Farmer’s high-density apple orchard.
