    Oscar watch at the Garde Cinema Winter Series

    The Academy Award nominations were announced last week, so now it's time to catch up all the much-lauded films you haven't seen. And, tick tock, the Oscars are handed out at a ceremony on Feb. 22.

    Here to help you is the Garde Cinema Winter Series.

    The series always showcases nominated releases, and this year's session kicks off with "The Theory of Everything" on Friday and Saturday and "Boyhood" on Saturday and Sunday.

    The Oscar breakdown for both of those movies:

    "The Theory of Everything," about Stephen Hawking, got nods for best picture, actor (Eddie Redmayne), actress (Felicity Jones), original score and writing - adapted screenplay.

    "Boyhood," which follows a boy from childhood to college and was shot over the course of a dozen years, earned noms for best picture, supporting actor (Ethan Hawke), supporting actress (Patricia Arquette), director (Richard Linklater), film editing, and writing - original screenplay.

    Next up at the festival: "St. Vincent" at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 28, "Citizenfour" at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 29, "Wild" at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 20 and 3 p.m. Jan. 31, and "Gone Girl" at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 31. More film accouncements to come.
