Norwich police make second arrest in September gas station robbery

Norwich — Police on Wednesday arrested a man who they said helped another local man rob a Shell gas station at gunpoint early last month.

Jordan T. Kondratowicz, 34, of 17 Sylvian St. was charged on a warrant with conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.

About 9:49 p.m. on Sept. 5, police responded to the Shell station at 170 Taftville-Occum Road and learned that clerks there had been robbed at gunpoint. The clerks reported no injuries, but said the robber had taken several hundred dollars and fled in an awaiting vehicle.

Police on Sept. 8 charged Eric S. Begin, 41, of 69 Providence St. with first-degree robbery, carrying a dangerous weapon and sixth-degree larceny for his alleged role in the robbery.

Kondratowicz, held on a $150,000 bond, was scheduled to appear in Norwich Superior Court on Wednesday.

Records show Begin remains in custody on a $100,000 bond and is next due in court Oct. 17.
