Connecticut station brands itself as Trump Radio
HARTFORD (AP) — A Connecticut radio station with a conservative talk format is branding itself as "Trump Radio."
WDRC-AM began simulcasting earlier this month on FM after receiving permission from the Federal Communication Commission.
It has put up 10 billboards around Hartford promoting the FM station as "Trump, 103.3," with a caricature of the president.
WDRC owner John Fuller says the suggestion came from a listener and he thought it perfectly encapsulated the station's ultra-conservative identity. He says he's not worried about violating trademark law by using the Trump name and believes the president would support it.
Connecticut's governor and every member of the state's congressional delegation are Democrats and that party also controls the state Legislature.
A message seeking comment was left Thursday with the White House.
