Mystic - Advanced Improvements LLC, one of the region's leading home-improvement contractors, is expanding its services into Massachusetts and New York.

The 10-year-old company, owned by David Preka, is now licensed and insured in those states, as well as in Connecticut and Rhode Island.

To help support the expansion, Preka also plans to open a satellite office in Fairfield County.

In this region, Advanced Improvements and its subsidiary, Design to Build, have established a presence at 61 W. Main St. while also recently revitalizing a property in Groton City to use as a warehouse and workshop.

Advanced Improvements has been named a Top 500 Remodeler for two years running and was named 2013 Remodeler of the Year by the Builders and Remodelers Association of Eastern Connecticut.

The company specializes in remodeling but also handles home building and commercial projects.
