Demi tough: Demi Lovato comes to Mohegan Sun
On Friday night, Mohegan Sun will be overrun by gaggles of tween, teen, and 20-something females. Which can only mean one of two things: a concert by Demi Lovato ... or a concert by One Direction.
In this case, it's Lovato. The 22-year-old singer brings her latest tour to the Arena for a Friday show. The set list includes her pop-happy hits - "Heart Attack," "Really Don't Care," "Skyscraper," "Give Your Heart a Break" - and even sees her busting out a cover of Michael Jackson's "Thriller."
Lovato has grown over the course of her career from a Disney-Channel star on "Sonny with a Chance" through her Simon Cowell years, as a judge on "The X-Factor," to a chart-topping singer.
It wasn't all easy. She famously went to rehab for an eating disorder and self-harming and has spoken honestly about her struggles and working to overcome them. After that, she wrote the book "Staying Strong: 365 Days a Year," which became a New York Times best-seller this year.
