Keith Trotochaud of Oakdale will be representing the United States when he attends the International Air Cadet Exchange in the United Kingdom next month.

Trotochaud, 18, is a senior at Montville High School and a cadet lieutenant colonel of the Danielson Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol, the all-volunteer U.S. Air Force auxiliary. He is one of only 36 cadets in the country attending the exchange, which was started after World War II to promote goodwill and friendship between young leaders.

He will be working with teenagers from more than 19 countries and sharing their love of aviation and youth leadership.

The Civil Air Patrol, with about 56,000 members nationwide, operates a fleet of 550 aircraft and performs about 90 percent of inland search and rescue missions in the continental U.S.
