Joel McHale brings his standup to Foxwoods

Joel McHale is the crowned prince of snark. Few people deliver an irreverent line like he does, and you can see him wield that humor live when he does his standup Saturday at Foxwoods.

Considering his way with a sardonic one-liner, McHale was tailor-made for hosting the gig that made him a star — “The Soup,” which made fun of pop culture.

He did eventually leave there, going on to star in the acclaimed NBC comedy series “Community” and the CBS sitcom “The Great Indoors.” He turned up on the revival of “The X-Files,” too.

His latest onscreen venture is “The Joel McHale Show” on Netflix, and it seems a bit of a return to “Soup” territory, since it features guests, sketches and video clips as it explores pop culture and news.

    Joel McHale, 7 p.m. Saturday, Foxwoods’ Fox Theater; $36, $46; 1-800-200-2882.
