Granite Theatre auditions for dogs to star in 'Annie'

Granite Theatre of Westerly will hold auditions for a medium-sized, sandy-colored dog to play Sandy in its production of “Annie — The Musical.”

The auditions will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at the theater, 1 Granite St., Westerly. David Jepson, artistic director for the theater, will be directing the show. There are 19 performances of the show between November 23 and December 23.

According to the theater's press release, the ideal candidate must be obedient and able to come on command, sit and stay and must enjoy people, especially children.
