If you don’t know who Laurie Berkner is, well, you probably aren’t a parent.

People magazine has dubbed Berkner “the queen of children’s music,” and she has become a major name in that world.

She fronts The Laurie Berkner Band, but she is doing a solo holiday show this season. She’ll be in the latter mode when she plays the Garde Arts Center on Saturday.

The program will mix traditional songs (think “Jingle Bells” and “Frosty the Snowman”) with original tunes that were part of the “A Laurie Berkner Christmas” album. Some non-Christmas numbers will be part of the concert, too.
