Here’s a concert featuring two voices that are absolutely iconic: Michael McDonald has that blue-eyed-soul sound that fronted Doobie Brothers and solo hits over the years. And Chaka Khan powers her songs with her distinctive tone, along with towering range and emotion that earned her the title “Queen of Funk.”

The two performers are on the road together this summer and are bringing their tour to Foxwoods on Sunday.

They each have new work they can pull out for performances, since they both recently released new albums.

In 2017, McDonald had “Wide Open,” which was his first solo offering since 2008 and his first album of original material since 2000. (In between 2000 and 2008, he offered up a couple of Motown-covers LPs.) He also had a 2018 holiday CD, “Season of Peace: The Christmas Collection.”

Chaka Khan, meanwhile, dropped her “Hello Happiness” in February of this year. As in McDonald’s case, this marked Khan’s first solo work in a while; her previous LP was “Funk This” in 2007.

And another thing Khan just started releasing: a wig collection. For all those fans who have envied Khan’s generous ’do over the years, here’s your chance: now you, too, can rock out while wearing “iKhanic Curl” or "iKhanic Straight.”

Michael McDonald and Chaka Khan, 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Foxwoods’ Grand Theater; $50-$75; 1-800-200-2882.
