Valenti unveils renovated Mystic auto showroom

Mystic - A gleaming new showroom was unveiled Thursday in the Chevrolet section of the Bob Valenti Auto Mall, which underwent a $1 million facelift over the past few months.

Rob Valenti, principal at the Jerry Browne Road dealership, said the improvements, completed by Delta Building Corp. of Essex, include a new facade, updated glass, revamped office space, a quieter waiting area and a new entry portal. Service customers will be able to drive in to the building for added comfort.

This is the first complete renovation of the 20,000-square-foot building, which has housed the Chevrolet brand for three decades.

"We have a whole new showroom," Valenti said in advance of the facility's official unveiling Thursday evening.

Among the special cars on hand for the showroom reopening was a new 2014 Corvette Stingray. Classic Chevy models such as Camaros, Impalas and a 1955 Nomad also were on hand for viewing. Valenti and his father, Bob Valenti, are collectors of classic cars.

General Motors offered dealerships incentives for sprucing up their facilities this year. Valenti has said he plans another build-out of a new 17,000-square-foot Volkwagen building that should be completed within a year.
