    Stonington Police continue to probe Lords Point assault

    Stonington — Police said today they are continuing to investigate an incident early Friday night in which a Lords Point man was cut by a man he found inside his storage shed.

    Capt. Jerry Desmond said the 65-year-old victim was brought to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London for treatment of lacerations, but said he could not comment on the man’s condition’s because of privacy restrictions. Police have not identified the victim, who reported being assaulted by a younger man with a sharp instrument or a knife.

    The man had gone to his storage shed under his home and was assaulted by a man with short blonde hair who was inside the storage area when he entered, according to police.

    Stonington detectives, Amtrak police and a Groton town police dog team responded to the scene to investigate.
