Fire damages Norwich Salvation Army

Norwich — A fire at the Norwich Salvation Army building on Main Street was contained to the first floor this afternoon, taking a little less than an hour to quell, according to a fire official.
Norwich Fire Department Battalion Chief Jim Kurasz said the 12:54 p.m. fire, which is under investigation, was under control at 1:35. There were no injuries. The city fire department was assisted by the FAST team of the Mohegan Tribal Fire Department.
