    New London man facing several drug charges

    New London — Police say they confiscated several drugs and more than $24,000 in cash while serving a search and seizure warrant at a New London apartment Thursday morning.

    City police charged Davion Kornegay, 27, of 17 Shaw St., Apt. 1, with two counts each of possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with intent to sell, as well as one count each of possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a drug factory.

    Officers served the warrant about 7:30 a.m. at Kornegay's apartment, where they said they located and seized about 50.2 grams of marijuana, roughly 19.4 grams crack cocaine, about 3 grams of powder cocaine, two scales, miscellaneous drug paraphernalia and $24,049 in U.S. currency.

    The investigation remains active, police said Thursday evening in a news release announcing the arrest.
