    Mystic Chamber hands out awards

    The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce Tourism & Community Awards and Party of 12 will be held at 5 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Velvet Mill in Stonington Borough. The Joyce Resnikoff Tourism Award will be announced that night, as will the Keel Award winner, given to a community business leader who represents the future Mystic.

    In addition, 15 Over 50 Ballast Awards, acknowledging those business icons over 50 years of age who have made Mystic their own for 15 years or more. will be presented to Megan Marco, owner of Stonington Natural Health Center; Kimberly Piscatelli, owner of Cardinal Honda; Chuck Sneddon and Susette Tibus, owners of Simply Majestic Jewelers; and Jeff Marshall, owner of Mystic Shipyard.

    Stonington Public Schools and the Chamber, with support from the Inclusion A Sylvestre Foundation, will present the first "Just One Chance award to the Mystic Aquarium for promoting an inclusive environment for Stonington Public School’s students who have a disability.

    The Outstanding Arts & Cultural Business or Organization award recipient for 2022 is Love & Pop, Rita Rivera, owner. The Outstanding Business Supporter of Arts & Culture award recipient for 2022 is UCONN Avery Point.

    Area restaurants providing hors d’oeuvres include Shipwright’s Daughter, J&R Seafood, Angie’s, Rocks 21, Port of Call, Pink Basil, Sift, Andiamo, Daniel Packer Inn, Ignazio’s The Pizza and Surf Cantina.
