    Conn. shore sees 2 to 4 inches; all the storm closings, cancellations, delays

    These area schools are closed Friday due to snow:

    East Lyme, Ella Grasso Southeastern Technical High School, Groton, Marine Science Magnet School of Southeastern Connecticut, Montville, New London, North Stonington, Norwich, Old Lyme/Lyme, Stonington, Three Rivers Community College and Waterford.

    All courthouses in the New London Judicial District will have a 90-minute delayed opening today.

    Mitchell College has canceled all of its classes scheduled after 2 p.m. today. All non-essential personnel are asked to leave campus by 2:30 p.m.

    The University of Connecticut will delay openings and classes this morning at all of its campuses. The regional campuses will open at 10 a.m., while the Storrs campus will open at 11 a.m.

    All DMV road tests are canceled for today. Anyone with a scheduled road test can call DMV to choose a new date: 800-842-8222.

    Recycling pickup in Waterford has been rescheduled for Monday. Regular garbage pickup is still available Friday.

    With the postponement of the Ledyard-Valley Regional boys basketball quarterfinal to Saturday, The Day will not be streaming live video from the game. Video highlights from the game will be available on Sunday.

    In New London, the parking ban downtown was lifted at 5 p.m. Friday. The ban for the rest of the city will be lifted at midnight.
