So from Aug. 23 – 27 at the Jewett City Skate Park from 9 until 3 skaters from all skill levels and ranging from 6 to 14 years old will have time to tweak their tricks with professional skateboarder Donny Barley and up to three other instructors.

The camp, hosted by the town’s recreation department and sponsored by Element skate boards, is already half full with 12 of the 25 slots taken.

A typical day will consist of splitting into groups and working with instructors in the morning until lunch. In the afternoon the group could break into a game of skate tag before some free skate time to work on adapting some of the new tricks learned in the AM session.

And yes, the counselors will have their chance to show off for the campers and yes, the whole event is still about fun. On the last the students demonstrate what they’ve learned and showcase his or her talents.
