‘Straight Jokes, No Chaser’ at Mohegan Sun

Humor is subjective, and not every person is going to laugh at every joke. Despite that, promoters are exhibiting brazen confidence in presenting a lineup of comics Friday in Mohegan Sun Arena and calling the event “Straight Jokes, No Chaser” — as though to suggest there won’t be so much as even one flat punchline all night.

Hell, they might be right.

Mike Epps headlines, and Earthquake, D.L. Hughley, Cedrick the Entertainer and DC Young Fly round out the bill. Solid professionals all, though I worry about DJ Young Fly. Given that the lifespan of a fly is typically about 28 days, he won’t be “young” long!

See? Every joke is gonna be funny!
