Lyme Art Association holds "2017 New England Landscape Exhibition"

In line with the same subject matter that inspired the American impressionist art movement in the early 20th century, the theme of landscapes will soon, too, shape the Lyme Art Association’s yearly “New England Landscape Exhibition.” Painters showcased this year will include celebrated landscape artists, such as Maine’s John Traynor and New Jersey native Neil Hughes, alongside several other visiting artists and LAA member artists in a juried show. A free reception open to the public will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the gallery, and the show will run through Nov. 3. The gallery is located at 90 Lyme St., Old Lyme. Admission is free, with contributions appreciated. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Wed.-Sun., or by appointment; (860) 434-7802,
