Sure, this event is at least an hour’s drive away, but Woodstock’s annual fair is one that is guaranteed to have something for everyone. It is, after all, one of the largest agricultural fairs in the state.

Take, for example, the fair’s stage lineup this year. Lee Rocker will get things going Friday night at 8 p.m., and The Cowsills (known for their 1967 hit “The Rain, the Park & Other Things”) are set to perform timeless ‘60s classics at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Following that comes classic rock band The Lovin’ Spoonful at 8 p.m., and on Sunday, get ready for Foghat, the band known for hits such as “Slow Ride” and “I Just Want to Make Love to You.” They'll rock Sunday’s crowd at 2:30 p.m.

Horse shows, go-kart racing, tractor pulls and craft demos are other entertainment options, and thrill rides will satisfy more daring fair-goers.

For a dose of something more traditional, hay baling and sheep shearing demonstrations are scheduled for Friday and Sunday, as well as the chance to see a calf being born at the Barnyard Babies Birthing Center. Baby animals sure do sound cute. Who can say no to that?
