All other fireworks around here pale in comparison to the Fireworks Extravaganza held every Sailfest and sponsored by The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and Foxwoods Resort.

This display is the biggest, boom-iest and most colorful — and who knew there could be so many different types of fireworks? Which is probably why the event attracts so many viewers each year, to both sides of the Thames River.

This year’s fireworks will be produced by Garden State Fireworks, and they’ll start around 9:20 p.m. Saturday. They are choreographed to music on K-Hits 100.9 FM.
