A Taylor-made time at United Westerly

It’s such a shame that Taylor Swift doesn’t get more attention.

I kid! Swift is everywhere these days — including at football games. (We see you, Travis Kelce.)

You surely know that a film of Swift’s blockbuster Eras Tour opens in movie theaters Friday. But you might also want to know that the United in Westerly is hosting a number of events related to the Swift-palooza. After all, she is a hometown girl of sorts, since she owns a home in the Watch Hill section of Westerly.

So, yes, the United is screening “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” from Friday through Nov. 5.

At the concession stand, you can buy Taylor Swift Chai cookies, made especially for the event by Vesta Bakery in Westerly.

On this Friday as well as Oct. 20 and Nov. 3, movie ticket-holders and United members can attend The Eras Party at the United. Expect signature cocktails and mocktails, photo booth, specially curated music playlists, costume competitions (so, yes, get out those Eras outfits and friendship bracelets), and more.

And at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 3, The United’s Youth on Mic concert will feature students from the R.I. Phil Music School @ The United and other young people in the community performing Swift songs. Admission is free.
