Event Description:
A prayer vigil commemorating the International Day of Peace 2022 will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 6 PM on the patio adjoining the Westerly Public Library in Wilcox Park. The 2022 theme is “End Racism, Build Peace”. Members of Westerly Area Peace and Justice will read prayers of peace from diverse cultures and faiths and music will accompany the program. The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire. We invite everyone to join us in this community expression of hope for a more peaceful world.
