Taste of Mystic happens this weekend
One of my favorite events in the region returns: the Taste of Mystic.
This event, held this weekend at Olde Mistick Village in Mystic, offers food fans the chance to taste appetizer-sized delectable dishes from area restaurants and caterers — all in one location.
Here’s just a sampling of the participants: Pinnk Basil, Tin Peddler, Manchester Cheesecake, Trattoria Amaldi, and Portuguese Fisherman.
A beer tent is part of the festival, and the line-up of bands playing include Darik & the Funbags 7-10 p.m. Fri.; the Matt n Dean Rock and Roll Acoustic Duo 5-6:30 p.m. Fri.; Beacon Street Band 6:30-10 p.m. Sat.; Huckleberry Pie 3-5 p.m. Sat.; and Sugar 2-5 p.m. Sun. Also on hand: axe throwing by Axtreme Entertainment
The Taste of Mystic also coincides with the 50th anniversary of Olde Mistick Village, which will have a related celebration at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Taste of Mystic, 5-10 p.m. Fri., 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sat., and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sun., Olde Mistick Village, Coogan Boulevard, Mystic; oldemistickvillage.com.
