Groton — Dillon Griscom, Hannah Nulick and Anne Drago each scored goals Saturday for the Stonington High School field hockey team in a 3-0 victory over Fitch which clinched the Eastern Connecticut Conference regular-season title for the Bears.

Maddie Mendez and Sandy McGugan had assists.

"Our seniors stepped up on defense (Sophia Fernholz, Anne Drago, Eileen Ackley) to ensure there were very limited opportunities for Fitch's attack, not allowing any penalty corners and only three shots on goal," Stonington coach Jenna Tucchio said.

"It was very exciting to have five different seniors involved in the scoring today, as well as a solid performance in goal by senior goalkeeper Avery Slocum."
