East Lyme boys, girls sweep ECC Large titles in indoor track

East Lyme High School’s boys’ and girls’ indoor track teams swept the Eastern Connecticut Conference Large Division championships Saturday at the Coast Guard Academy.
The girls repeated as champion, scoring 214.5 points. Second-place Norwich Free Academy finished with 87. The East Lyme boys had 158 points to 88 for runner-up Bacon Academy.
East Lyme’s Gianna Folz (55-meter hurdles, long jump) and Ledyard’s Megan Brawner (1,000, 3,200) won two individual events each on the girls’ side. For the boys’ Ledyard’s Michael Lopes won the 300 and the high jump and teammate Bryce Hedman the 1,600 and the 3,200.
