Safer highways begin with all of us

Since the beginning of time, society has been filled with problems. Problems come in various sizes and may affect each of us differently. Two letters appeared on Sept. 15, suggesting the problem on I-95 safety relates to lack of enforcement, “Tough enforcement key to I-95 safety,” and "More extensive police patrols needed to curb violators on I-95.”

While agreeing with the solution being enforcement, I feel it still is falling short. Each of us should take on the responsibility and make it a matter of "self-enforcement." How am I driving? Individually, we can do our share to improve road conditions. We can do our part and bring the speed limits in alignment with the law; we can render proper recognition of stop signs; and adhere to other rules of the road.

Obeying all of these laws should be our part of self-enforcement. Let's get busy and do our part of making it safer on our roads.
