In these difficult times when the news is, as my sainted mother would say, like yesterday only a little worse, I can often count on The Day's headline writer to brighten my mood. Take this above-the-fold gem that appeared on the eve of Thanksgiving: "Turkey shoots down Russian plane." That brought a smile almost as broad as these two that appeared Nov. 18, "Naked man escapes from hospital, prompting some Norwich schools to draw shades" and "World's Last person treated for Ebola."

I guess when life gives you lemons, you really can make lemonade.
