Abhors the result, but respects process

As I trust the President-elect Trump learned yesterday, elections for president are not "rigged" in the United States of America. Although I abhor the result, I accept it as the verdict of the majority of the Electoral College vote in accordance with our Constitution. That is the principal reason why we are and always will be the greatest nation on Earth.

This nation was born of a revolution, survived a civil war, two world wars and still grapples with the traumas of Korea, Vietnam and the Middle East. Over our history, we as a people have worked to overcome economic depressions, recessions and massive changes in the ways that people earn their livelihood and struggle to survive. We clearly have more work to do.

Although we are still imprisoned by our own bigotry, sense of displacement and downright anger, we are still the magnificent beacon of hope to every other nation and people in the world.

We will survive this administration as we have survived all other duly elected administrations of our national government. We each must do our utmost to insure justice, wisdom and generosity guide all actions of our officials and our behavior towards each other. Long live the democratic republic of the United States of America.
