Anonymous comment on a teen is cowardly

The purpose of this letter is to voice my opinion about the article “Remember, the next time it might happen to your child” (July 22), concerning a posted comment about 16-year-old Mikey Buscetto.

I’ve never hidden from anything or anyone, unlike many of the gutless cowards on social media. I coached Mike (his dad) for a short time years ago, so I got to know him as a teenager. At that time, he was always polite, respectful, funny, extremely competitive and just a nice person to be around. He was always a classy kid. As an adult, whenever I see him, his hand goes right out and we shake as a very respectful person would.

Yes, Mike can be tough, a little loud at times and controversial, but just look at what he’s done in the field of charity.

As far as Mikey, I've known him since Little League and he's always been like pops; classy. One time, when he was 9 or 10, I was in line at Dick's. He noticed me and approached me like pops, his hand straight out. I thought to myself, classy and respectful, just like Mike.

So whatever reason the hidden, gutless coward wrote what they did, shame on you! You have a beef with Mike, upset he moved to Waterford, don’t like his success? It’s okay to say something negative about an adult, even when you’re wrong, but mentioning a 16-year-old in a cowardly way, that makes you a slimy, sleazy, disrespectful, classless loser, just the opposite of the Buscetto family.
