    Groton Democrats put politics first

I read Mr. Heede's letter, “Set aside the petty and partisan games,” (Sept. 30). I cannot agree more; put the people of the Town of Groton over petty partisan politics. Sadly, Mr. Heede's letter is disingenuous. The supposed attack on Mr. Zepperi does not exist. Mr. Heede cannot produce a screenshot showing it exists. Mr. Heede is insulting the intelligence of the voters. This is clearly a smokescreen to cover the disturbing facts about the present council, brought to light by The Day article about Mr. Atwater's resignation (Sept. 28), showing Mr. Heede and his fellow Democrats on the council place their personal agenda above the people of Groton.

Mr. Heede also failed to mention that two of his Democratic constituents removed my campaign signs from friends' lawns, a matter I brought up to a council member last week. Another candidate's sign was taken this morning. I am extending a request to Mr. Heede and the Groton Town Democrats, stop the petty partisan games, make this election what it is truly about, the issues, what is best for our town, and be adult and courteous. Mr. Heede, please stop the "accusations made without regard for facts, fairness or decency."
