Hammond has the right stuff for Waterford school board

This letter is in support of Christine Hammond’s candidacy for the Waterford Board of Education. Christine has an exceptionally strong set of educational and leadership skills to bring to this position. Her 28 years of teaching and administration at community colleges, including 14 years at Three Rivers, make her particularly attuned to the curriculum goals necessary to prepare our students for flexible career paths and responsible community participation.

Christine and her husband, Ulysses, have been residents of Waterford for two decades. During this time she has demonstrated a high level of commitment to our town and region through her board participation in multiple community agencies and foundations including Waterford Country School, Lawrence + Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Foundation, Visiting Nurses of Southeastern Connecticut, and the Community Foundation of Southeastern Connecticut.

Christine is eager to bring her life experience and training to the Waterford Board of Education to help facilitate the future success of our town’s children.

Please join me on Nov. 5 in casting your vote for Christine Hammond.

    Peggy Sheridan
