The Day featured an article by Trevor Burrus, who argued the libertarian position of "free choice" when you want to smoke tobacco, “Let the people smoke what they choose” (May 31). He was identified as research fellow for the Cato Institute, formerly known as the Charles Koch Foundation, which is part of the Kochtopus Political Empire. Charles Koch, along with Snoop Dog, is pushing to legalize marijuana and wants to be in on the ground floor in order to invest in selling marijuana. A ban on smoking would diminish the value of his potential investment.

Who is Charles Koch? If you have not read Jane Mayer’s “Dark Money,” Christopher Leonard’s “Kochland;” or Nancy MacClean’s “Democracy in Chains,” you have no idea who Charles Koch is. I can only urge citizens to read those books and discover the biggest threat to our democracy since the Civil War. "The sunlight of awareness is the best disinfectant."
