Everyone is familiar with the old expression, “common sense is not so common.” Unfortunately, this is all too true in city policy and government. New London is a great city with so much going for it. Yet one must ask; why are we not thriving?

The answer I am afraid is that we keep on shooting ourselves in the foot with the short-sighted decisions and policies and projects without thinking them through. It seems not much consideration or compassion for the taxpayers ever enters into the process.

John Russell, on the other hand is a kind, compassionate, experienced, intelligent individual who would bring to the City Council just what we so desperately need. I have had the pleasure of serving with John for many years. He has always put the needs and interests of you, the citizens of New London, first in every decision he has ever made.

John has my vote. In closing, I ask you to use your common sense and give him your vote too!
