Why am I afraid of being murdered at the mall?
As I sat in a chair on the upper promenade of the Crystal Mall waiting as my wife shopped, a disturbing thought entered my mind. Where, I wondered, would be the best place to take cover if a deranged person began spraying bullets? That such a bizarre thought could intrude upon my reverie says a lot about the world in which we live today. And certainly, what it says is not good.
