An apology is called for
I read the coverage of Officer Adam Lapkowski’s passing and was disappointed in how it was reported by The Day. It also appears other readers were, too. You can imagine how disheartening it was to see Karen Florin try to explain away the article in Saturday’s Jan. 14 edition. Instead, she rubbed salt in the wound by commenting on the “excellent” job the reporter did. The Day held its “newsroom” discussion too late. I do not recall The Day ever admitting it was wrong in the past.
The newspaper needs to do two things, admit it made a mistake and apologize.
