    Be careful with statistics

Regarding Dr. Gregory McIntire's letter, "Republican presidents and the national debt," (Jan. 16), as he suggested, I Googled the topic. As he stated, Reagan had the highest percentage increase (289%, $1.8 T), but McIntire neglected to point out that Obama had the highest dollar increase ($8.6 T, 74%). So, Obama's impact is $6.8 T more than Reagan's.

So much for objective reporting - I guess you can pick your poison, or as Benjamin Disraeli stated, "there are lies, damn lies and statistics." Perhaps Dr. McIntire could apply to the Connecticut Democratic party to create press releases.
