    Video games are for everyone

Are videogames finally getting the mainstream recognition they deserve as an aspect of culture? I'd say yes. Video game music has become a category of the Grammy Awards, for one thing. Meanwhile, the Olympics have integrated video games into this year's inaugural Olympic eSports Series, including the famous "Gran Turismo" series of racing games, which had previously worked with the motorsport governing body known as the FIA. (The FIA makes the rules for Formula One, among other motorsport series.)

Most recently, the main theme of "Super Mario Bros." was inducted into the Library of Congress, and the film adaption of the Japanese icon is breaking box office records as we speak. The days of video games being reserved solely for so-called "nerds" are long over; they are now for everyone. Even if you belong to an older generation, there surely is a game out there that would appeal to you.
