    How about police driving habits?

I have been wondering why I see police vehicles driving at higher speeds than posted without their lights or sirens? I have even been tailgated by a state cop on the highway for no reason. It seems to me they have no problem driving at whatever speed they feel like, instead of obeying the laws that the public is required to obey.

I have even seen, more times than I can count, state police set up like a speed trap, but they do nothing. For example, at the construction on I-95 in East Lyme, I see cruisers parked near the 395 split/merge and cars going at over 70 miles per hour in a 50 mph and even 45 mph zone. Then, all we hear on the news is about how there has been a bad accident.

I wonder if the police had stopped some of those reckless speeders, those accidents would have been prevented? What are my tax dollars doing paying for those officers to sleep on the side of the highway? I understand about doing paperwork, but I do not see police pulling over any speeders, even though the construction zone is a very dangerous area for road workers.
