Westbrook Public Schools teachers Richard Matz, Ray Hayes, and Tim Byars were among those veterans recognized by the Westbrook High School (WHS) Student Council during WHS's annual Veterans Day assembly. The event included an opening address by WHS Principal Robert Hale and recognition of WHS Class of 2005 alum Mitchell Linck, who was wounded in a sniper ambush while serving in Fallujah, Iraq. The Student Council is sponsoring a Wounded Warrior Project fundraising drive in Linck's honor. Finally, students enjoyed a performance by the U.S. Coast Guard Band's Woodwind Quintet.
