Parades to affect traffic in Groton Monday
Groton — Town police have announced road closures and traffic congestion alerts for Monday in connection with Memorial Day parades in Mystic and Noank.
In Mystic, closures will begin around 1 p.m. and remain in effect until about 30 minutes after the parade. Affected roads include West Main Street from the drawbridge to High Street; Water Street from West Main to New London Road; Pearl Street from West Main to Clift Street; and Gravel Street from West Main to Clift.
Noank closures will extend from around 10 a.m. until a short time after the parade. Closures will affect Elm Street from Brook Street to Prospect Hill Road, and the village area, including Mosher and Ward avenues and Main, Pearl, High and Sylvan streets.
Moderate traffic conditions in Noank and downtown Mystic are anticipated before, during and after the parades.
