Norwich police arrest man on heroin charges

Norwich — During a raid today at an unidentified hotel, Norwich police said they seized an ounce of raw heroin, a car, $1,600 cash and arrested a 37-year-old man on drug charges.

Milton Ramon, with no certain address, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to sell and operating a drug factory.

Police said the arrest was part of months-long investigation by Norwich police detectives and Statewide Narcotics Task Force into heroin trafficking in Norwich and the surrounding area.

Police said they served a search warrant at the hotel where they suspect Ramon was packaging the heroin for street sales. They estimated the heroin had a street value of $5,000.

Held in lieu of a $100,000 bond, Ramon is due to appear Tuesday in Norwich Superior Court.
