East portion of Rocky Neck State Park closed

East Lyme – The swimming area on the east side of the beach at Rocky Neck State Park is closed due to poor water quality, but the swimming area on the western side remains open, the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection announced today.

Water from the east beach will be resampled on Wednesday and results of the tests are expected on Thursday, DEEP said.

All other beaches at state parks are open, DEEP said today.
