East Haven Motorist Charged in Fatal Route 8 Crash
An East Haven man has been charged with manslaughter and driving under the influence after police say he caused a car accident that killed another driver.
State Police say Drew Bridgman was driving south on Route 8 in Trumbull on Saturday when he struck the rear of the vehicle in front of him, forcing both cars into the median.
It was not known Sunday if Bridgman is represented by a lawyer and he does not have a listed phone number.
The other vehicle rolled over and struck a concrete bridge support. The 44-year-old driver, Miguel Aguilar of Naugatuck, was declared dead at Bridgeport Hospital.
The 23-year-old Bridgman was charged with manslaughter, driving under the influence and reckless driving.
He was released on $100,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on March 10.
