Child injured in NL scooter accident

New London — A seven-year-old child suffered facial lacerations early Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle while riding an electric scooter in the road, according to police.
The incident occurred at 7:07 p.m. at the intersection of Rogers and Elm streets. The child was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment. No charges were filed and the incident is under investigation according to a statement issued this morning by Deputy Chief Peter Reichard. No other details were available.
