    A Hygienic facelift

Michael McNabney of Ledyard begins restoring the iconic "New London Ladies" mural on an exterior wall of the Hygienic Art Gallery on Bank Street Tuesday. The original mural was painted by Terry "Davo" Davis of New London, in the summer of 1999. The "Save the Ladies" project is supported through a grant by the state Department of Economic and Community Development but relies on donations in order to match the grant contribution. The artists are estimating six to eight weeks for the completion of the project.
